Plant Warranty
What is a Plant Warranty: The MLM Warranty
The Big Idea: When plants are installed under the Montana Landscape Maintenance Warranty and die due to our own fault, they get replaced, with materials and labor all free of charge.
Introducing a plant warranty into your project takes a good plan and throws it right into the great category. As with any warranty, our plant warranty covers the loss of any of the plants involved due to a fault of our own. The underlying question, however, is what the terms behind the warranty are, and we want to be transparent! Here are the details of our plant warranty:
MLM Plant Warranty – Detailed
What is Covered?
Any plant that is installed and specified as being under the “plant warranty” line item of your project quote is covered for death by any fault of our own. All plant cost and labor cost are completely free-of-charge to include the following causes of death:
- —Improper drip system/watering system
- —Unhealthy soil usage
- —Improper plant location (too much/not enough sunlight for plant)
- —Involved subcontractor damage (one of our subcontractors damages plants)
- —Improper growing conditions: Plant changes due to unsuitable growing conditions receive a credit equal to the original plant’s cost
- —Etc.
What is Not Covered?
If your plant is part of a project we've installed and covered under warranty and dies due to a fault we cannot control, it will not be covered. The following reasons for death/damage are not covered:
- —Wildlife damage
- —Client-edited watering systems
- —Client damage to plant
- —Uninvolved subcontractor damage (A subcontractor not involved in the project or MLM damages plants)
How Long is the Coverage?
Our warranties guarantee plant health for 1 year following installation. After 365 days, death of a plant in our project area will no longer be covered.
How is the Warranty Activated?
We activate your plant warranty by an on-site assessment. If Montana Landscape Maintenance does not maintain your property and you notice a dead plant, make a request on our website by clicking Get in Touch > Make a Request. If we do maintain your property, please notify us of your plant’s condition, and our team will look at it during our next visit or the earliest available time frame.
What does Warranty Activation actually look like?
The photos below show an Arborvitae tree that was replaced under warranty after our team noticed it was dying. It was removed and replaced, and the area cleaned up, all in 30 minutes and free of charge.
